This installment started off a little rushed and disorganized. There was a whole plot point that didn't feel like it belonged and didn't seem to add to or alter the main plot at all. By the halfway mark, it was back up to the quality that was given in the first books. 

Baldair though! Every once in a while, there comes a character in a book that you just absolutely fall in love with! 

So, naturally, he dies! I was devastated and had to stop reading the book for a little while. The loss of Aldrick and Vahlla's bond was very interesting and I hope that in the next book, it's as much of a hurdle as it should be. It would be very disappointing if it was just a minor bump in the road to add spice to this book.
