I loved it so much! The character development, the tension, the time jumps, the bits and pieces of information fitting together at a perfect pace. It was slightly predictable, but that only made me want to read it more. It was one of those books I had to put down and take breaks from because it was becoming overwhelming and infuriating, and I just wanted to scream. I really loved the time jumps – they definitely made it stand out from other fae series, and I loved that it was a fantasy with romance, not a “romantasy” (though I love those too). Often, the romance is at the expense of other characters and storylines, but in this series, everything is very well balanced. On multiple occasions, it reminded me of Harry Potter. While the world-building could never quite match that, the resemblance made me love this book even more. It felt so cozy reading it. I’m devastated the next one isn’t out yet 😩.
