Lacklustre ending to the series.
This book was all over the place and I couldn’t get engaged in it. It started off with time jumps and miscommunications- which I despise- and the whole secret of who cousin Michael is, that’s been withheld from us the entire series, was revealed in the first chapter. It was all very underwhelming. Add to that a murder mystery was introduced at the 70% mark, changing the trajectory of the book from them finding their way together, to them being impeded by him being a suspect in his wife’s murder. Just overall I didn’t enjoy this read. It sucks when it’s an author you like, and the writing style is so familiar and comforting but the story is crap.
