The Locked Door is a story filled with action, twists and turns, and the constant questioning of how the main character was smart enough to get a medical degree. To preface this, I like the story. Especially since the reveals at the end were unexpected (though the question of whether the ending was deserved is a debate amongst fans). I felt like the story was easy to follow while the hints to the killer were not distracting enough to take away from what was being shown. Nora, however, is probably the worst thing about the book even though in terms of main characters written by McFadden, she's one of the saintly ones with a better personality. Nora's constant bad decisions and incriminating behavior when confronting the police made me constantly question how this woman had the logic ability to become a doctor. Either way, she's not the worst yet not the best. But her character doesn't distract me enough from the overall story to be unbearable.
