En finir avec Eddy Bellegueule by Édouard Louis

Mesmerizing! The author is describing how he feels that he is not fitting to the standards of the local society in a small village in northern France due to his homosexual nature. Many descriptions about his family and the local society. There are several times where the author partially blames the society itself and the poverty for his traumatic experience. All the descriptions of physical and psychological violence he receives are so raw that it shocked me beyond my expectations. I think that's why while reading this book I got the impression that it takes place in an older decade than the nineties. Looking forward to reading the rest of his books.
