This has been one of my favorite reads so far this year. A weird alternate west where infants are worshipped and the end all be all of society sets up the story of a midwifes daughter and her adventure with a gang of outlaws. It was a super cool twist on classic tropes and ada was a genuinely lovable protagonist. The supporting cast has stand outs and a few characters that blend together but still a really engaging ensemble. It was light and exciting but also balanced characters dealing with mental illnesses isolation persecution inequality and traumas. Really good and an easy rec for anyone looking for a new western
