This is an excellent beginning chapter book series complete with adorable pictures, large text size and ample white space for easy reading, and interesting related facts at the end. The dog characters each have their own personality and the mysteries are hard enough to challenge the readers, but not so hard that they would cause a loss in interest. Not every story in the series is equally great, but it is still a solid addition to any library collection.
