Cokie: A Life Well Lived by Steven V. Roberts

5.0

I always said the only celebrities I really loved were Cokie Roberts and Muppets. Somehow this book made me admire Cokie even more! I loved this book and think it’s such a great memory of her and what was important to her; especially the power of female friendships, faith and kindness. I love that there’s a whole chapter devoted to how much each of her friendships meant. I feel like it was cathartic for Steven to write and also probably very hard, but I’m thankful he did. Read this if you’re a woman in politics, a woman in journalism, a woman in an interfaith relationship, a Catholic woman, a Jewish woman, a woman from Bethesda, a woman who cares about the world or a man or woman who wants to support or understand any women. “What would Cokie do?”
