i think the author masterfully set us in the 1920s without it feeling forced or like a rattled off list of the most memorable parts of that decade. the ending left me very confused (from further research, this was probably intentional) but i felt left wanting more for the ending. also, it was very slow moving and repetitive. i felt like i was set up for something and then it barely happened. the plot felt unique in certain aspects, for sure. Rose’s victorian ideals were surprising
