When I first started reading this book I hated it. I didn’t like it right away because this is my first fantasy book and it’s not my preferred genre. The only reason I didn’t DNF is because it’s our bookclub pick. I found El insufferable plus the made up names always confuse me but after the first 100 pages I understood a lot more of what was going on! By the end of the book I started to really feel for these characters and their wellbeing. I haven’t felt connected to characters in a book for so long! I forgot what that felt like!
