Everything I Need I Get from You: How Fangirls Created the Internet as We Know It by Kaitlyn Tiffany

3.0

This tells a good story of how influential fangirls are and it was very interesting to take a closer look into how it all operates and the impact of fandom. It was good read, my only real complaint would be that I wish there was less about One Direction. I know that is the author’s main fandom, so it makes sense that most of her personal stories are about them, but after the halfway point, it seemed like the book was only about One Direction and not fandom. I feel like there were major fandoms not discussed in detail enough for this book to be truly about how fangirls shaped the internet (Superwholock, Homestuck, Barbz, Swifties, Beyhive, etc.) Overall, a good read, but it definitely needed to be more diverse to live up to it’s title.
