Would be a 5 if the author didn't equate femininity with infantilization a bunch of times. Instalove is used but for whatever reason I was able to get emotionally attached to the characters anyway. The xenosociological concept of the dark forest is dour. However I really enjoyed the physics and science discussion. Really really enjoyed (especially the theoretical discussion within) the last 50 pages or so. The concept of the solar system is viscerally horrifying in a way other similar concepts of cosmological aren't.
