challenging dark emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

I can't rate this one. Though I really enjoyed it, there was a likeness to a film that came out five years before this was published that was entirely unignorable. If I hadn't seen that film, I'd have likely given this book 5 stars but the plot lines were almost identical and obviously the film came first.
