Here we are, 9 books in and we finally get Hunter’s story. Hunter is a Breed male created to be a warrior for the evil Dragos. A few books ago we witnessed him changing sides and becoming a part of the warrior group that fights protect the civilian Breeds and keep the peace and now, in Deeper Than Midnight, he finally gets his HEA.

In Taken by Midnight we saw the Breed Mates take charge and save a lot of Breed Mates that had been kept captive for a long time. One of these females was Corinne. Corinne has gone through all kinds of hell, now she just wants to go home and it’s Hunter’s job to make sure she gets there safe. However that turns out to be a much harder job than once believed.

I have been looking forward Hunter’s story for a long time and was happy to finally seeing Hunter evolve from a cold and hardened warrior to the man he deserves to be and have the happiness he deserves to have.

On the background of Corinne and Hunter’s journey, Sterling Chase got quite a lot of stage time and even though I love the man, I felt that him getting so much spotlight was in detriment of Hunter and Corinne’s story. The ending felt rushed and incomplete when it comes to the main two characters’ HEA and since it is a Paranormal Romance novel, it bothered me some.

I have to say that I did enjoy the book quite a lot and I am looking forward to Chase’s story, I just wished Hunter and Corinne had had more stage time, it was their book after all.
