Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend

5.0

This book was truly incredible and truly more than just a kids book with its intellectual commentary that is so accurate to today’s society with events in the book being spookily similar to events occurring this year. This book focuses on many themes like discrimination over race and how people are afraid of what they’d only understand which again makes you truly think about the complexity of human nature . The plot was exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. I also loved the Christmas chapters which truly captured the magic of Christmas and made me feel very cosy. The story of Morrigan also becomes darker in this book as wunimals are suffering from this disease mog has to decide what the best thing to do to save the most people. I also love how the past wundersmyths cast a shadow over mog throughout the series as she tries to distinguish herself from people like squall but we also see this darker side to mog as she enjoys the power she experiences in that amazing final chapter. Once again I love all the characters and this wonderful magical world and this trio of best friends gives me major golden trio vibes which just gives me a lot of nostalgia . Overall this series so far is so incredible and a perfect winter read and is definitely one of my favourite series ever and I can’t wait to see the adventures of mog continue
