Plot Twist by Bethany Turner
3.0
The plot sounded cute but… man. The characters. I just didn’t like most of them. They are supposed to be adults but their actions were very YA.
Normally I’m a huge fan of books that take place over a long period of time—I get annoyed by characters who love each other after knowing each other for three days—but this one missed the mark. Again, due to the characters’ immaturity. The entire book could be condensed to two chapters if only the characters would have an honest conversation with each other. I know this is a common conflict used in fiction, but it’s far less of a deal over the course of a few months versus TEN YEARS.
That all being said, I did tear through this book because I was curious how it would come to an end and how all the pieces would fall into place.
Also, I thought this was a Christian book but it wasn’t. It was clean in that there wasn’t any suggestive content and the most the characters did was kiss. So, if you like clean books, here’s one for you! If you’re looking for Christian content, you won’t find it here.
