What a gem! Considering I don't really like food/kitchen/baking centered books OR the grumpy/sunshine trope in the romance genre (and this has both), I still enjoyed it greatly so that says something about the strength of the book and writing!

This is my first contemporary rom com book with a nonbinary love interest (who comes out mid-book) and it digs into some uncomfortable stuff for the cis mc. I liked how much was in conversation in the narrative. It also does get into the love interest's top surgery and recovery so if that is something that could be triggering to you, take care with the read.

Ultimately, it's very sweet and light (while also tackling some important topics) and I will totally be reading the companion which follows Simone's roommate Luna's love story!!
