Pretty good volume! It has some of the 80s "comics have to be edgy and mature" but actually backs it up with serious reflection on its characters. Even in its most bizarre and surreal moments it still takes the emotions of its characters seriously and explores those feelings well. It also incorporates a lot of elements from philosophy and artistic movements, which also helped support its serious tone and story. The only real problem I have with this is the pacing. I feel like each of the comics could have used a few more pages. It's very normal for an issue to start ramping up, getting more exciting and interesting, only for it to be immediately resolved.
