A Game of Fate by Scarlett St. Clair

I’m a sucker for Persephone and Hades retellings and so this was perfect for me. Though this book is basically a Touch of Darkness but from Hades point of you you don’t really notice that because he’s really has his own plot going on in this book which I really liked because I didn’t wanna just be reading a Touch of Darkness all over again. I loved that we got to see more of the gods because in Persephone‘s world she’s very isolated from the gods but Hades is right there with them and so that was very nice to read more about. This is more modern so it really made the gods more interesting and more intriguing especially Hecate and Hermes. Hermes is hilarious and every time he appeared in the book I had to market because he just made me laugh and then Hecate her relationship with Hades is so cute they have this sibling close friendship and the way that they go out each other is so much like siblings. I love the little competition that they have going on to see who can sneak up on the other I hope that keeps getting mention throughout the series because I think that’s a cute touch. I especially love that Hecate is one of the only gods that can call he’s out on his bullshit and not get in trouble for it because he’s scared of her in a way. My one complaint with this book is that Hades is very much a horn dog. Every time he talks about Persephone he talks about her lovingly and then he talks about wanting to fuck her and I get it dude you really like her but come on. When they finally got together it was just sex all the time even though there were some cute moments. That was my only complaint really but they were still super cute together. All in all a good read.
