I've read many, many wonderful books this year but this one takes the cup for being the most memorable with the most vivid & brilliant setting 🤩.
It's been months since I read this & I can still just think back to the Gallant house & sink my mind right back into it. Like sometimes, before I fall asleep, I imagine myself at the Gallant kitchen hanging out with all the characters, having freshly baked stuff with fresh fruits from the garden 🤭. I'm a sucker for beautiful, cozy settings okkk😝🥰. I know this book went viral for the spookiness but I'm gonna try to sell it to you with a different vibe.

Tbh, I was actually nervous to read this bcz of how popular the author is & the fear of it being over hyped. I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. Schwab deserves the over hype!!! The writing was so wonderful, magical, seemless & I'm running out of adjectives bcz it's that awesome ok! 🤩😱🤯😍🥰.

And then there's the whole story 🥺❤️. Guys, my heart was broken and then mended only for it to absolutely shatter but then slowly begin repairing again 😭😭😭. The emotions I went through...Wow. I finished the book in less than 24hrs bcz I just couldn't handle waiting. (Let's take a moment to think about how I spent less than 24hrs in this book & I still think about the setting 😅)

I also loved the fact that there weren't any holes in the plot. I had so many questions & they all got answered. And then there's Olivia, such a brave & strong character, I love loved her 🥺❤️. You know how there's those strong, fighty, sword carrying female characters? This was a different type of strong & truly refreshing to see a different type of strength 🥰💪.

Shout-out to my sis for going to England and bringing back a book with the most beautiful cover 🥳. If only the book had been a gift to me instead of me having to borrow it from her 🙃
