Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters: The Frightening New Normalcy of Hating Your Body by Courtney E. Martin

5.0

This book is my new manifesta. It treats the whole girl, not just the psychological but also the spiritual and cultural aspects of eating disorders. Not as triggering as ED memoirs but still painfully true to the experience. Of course, I fit perfectly in Martin's demographic, but those who complain the book doesn't conform to their experience, I would offer the observation the author states her recognition of this at the beginning.
