Mary is Dakota's friend from book 4. Glen is the brother of Trent from book 3. They met briefly in 3 but went their separate ways. Glen & Mary finally get back together & though Mary is wary of the whole thing they begin a long distance relationship mostly only possible because Glen owns a private jet rental company. There is more tension & angst in this one, with an unknown person making physical threats against Mary. I guessed who that was almost immediately.
Decent romance over all. I enjoyed it.
But it did have that trope that annoys me - strong woman, been capably living her life for 25-30 years just fine, handling all her issues just fine now has a man in her life and everyone around her is "let him deal" and "you need help" as if she barely made it all these years alone.
