I'm going to let you in on a secret: I am a big ol' baby. This book makes me happy (and then, cry!) every time I read it and every time it comes across my desk, I read it again. It is my absolute favorite library story and I have a lot of great ones in my book rolodex. I cannot tell you what it is, but this book has it. The nostalgia of discovering the library for the first time? The illustrations that so perfectly mirror the feeling of the book? Great characters and a sweet story? Yes, give me all of that, please.
