My Epic Spring Break (Up) by Kristin Rockaway
4.0
This was so cute! I'm so happy I read this, it's the perfect quick read for when you're in the middle of a reading slump or if you're just having a bad day. Just super adorable and heartwarming!
This follows Ashley, a coding queen, who kind of goes off the deep end after finding out she's rejected from a summer internship program. I love any YA novels that feature young women who are into technology and coding! It's so important girls have these kind of role models growing up so that they can feel like anything is possible.
Ashley makes mistakes and she dates the wrong guy and sometimes says the wrong things but that's what makes her human and a young girl just trying to figure her shit out. At the end, it all works out the way it's supposed to and I think it teaches the valuable lesson of moving on even when things don't work out the way you wanted them to.
While there were parts of this novel that definitely got on my nerves and while it wasn't always written in the most cohesive way, I was smiling ear-to-ear by the end of it. I would totally reread this if I was feeling down. I think a lot of teen girls out there would enjoy this book and if you're a Swiftie, you'll adore this book. Highly, highly recommend.
