Love at First Like by Hannah Orenstein

3.0

This book was the equivalent to a Netflix produced rom-com that features all the modern-day technology that we all love to hate and hate to love.

Eliza Roth is a badass lady business owner who owns her own jewelry shop with her sister. She is an Instagram whiz and knows how to use social media to benefit her business. One night, she accidentally posts a fake engagement announcement onto her Instagram page (that has more than 100K followers) but business spikes after and she decides that she will pretend to be engaged to help boost sales so that their business can afford the increasing rent. What follows is a series of bad decisions that she makes as she tries to find a groom to fully execute her fake wedding (where she inevitably ends up falling in love for real).

I liked the NYC setting in this one, found the writing to be pretty good, and was sucked in by the story (even if it was a little eye-rolly at times). Recommend for a fun and quick read!
