Oh My Goth by Gena Showalter

2.0

So I first read this in the midst of my Goth phase when I was 14 years old.

Overall, I found this to be a funny parody - if it was even meant as such.

The whole book is incredibly shallow with a Freaky Friday vibe. Characters are written badly, and the romance was like a cardboard cut-out. You could replace it's development with any couple from a book in the romance aisle and it would still function in the same way.

I'm convinced that this author had 1) never actually talked to anyone belonging to the Goth subculture, and 2) never spent any time around real life teenagers.

I really only recommend it as a book to laugh at, at best.
