I read this on release and as one of my favourite secret society dark romances I couldn't wait to listen to the audio version. I was completely engaged from the start and was sucked straight back into Edgewood with all its twists and turns. I liked Ariah as she just gets up and gets on with it. She's not a Mary Sue and has her flaws but I loved how she stepped up for her siblings when it counted; I loved their family dynamic.

Bridget Bordeaux is a great Ariah but it's her Samantha that I really loved. It's just perfect; Bordeaux totally nails that whiny voice the other characters mention and I could totally visualise all the foot stomping that would have gone along with it! Jake Bordeaux has a lot to play with the various Elites and I liked his take on the characters. Wyatt definitely felt a bit more menacing and he really leaned into Wes "charming" personality; I'd forgotten how awful he was in this!

It's made me want to go and re-read the rest of the series as that cliffhanger is still pretty epic!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
