Quite a change in tone from the previous books in the series. What started as a Sci-fi thriller/adventure seemed to transform into a philosophical read with a sci-fi undertone. The thrills and puzzles were still there, but not as prominent as in the first two books. If you look at the last two books, you can definitely notice major change in tone in regards to dialogue. In WG, dialogue was primarily made up of science talk and action, with the major conflict being a race against time to save the planet. But in OH, dialogue is mainly about ethics of racial equality, and the bad guy has suddenly become “humanity” both literally and figuratively. While this isn’t necessarily bad in terms of story or theme, it was just a major change and not what I signed up for when I started the series.

The audiobook was still good (it is definitely the format I would suggest when reading this book), I just found myself spacing out way more often the previous books. And I can’t really recall what exactly happened in terms of plot.

Basically, the rating is a result of being disappointed with the switch in tone . But this was still enjoyable a times.
