This was an incredible book, my favorite in the Mistborn saga so far. All in all, I liked Era 1 much better than Era 2. However, the Lost Metal was an incredible finale. Wayne was always a good character, but he was static. Until now. His transformation is so raw, guttural, so HIM. I knew he was going to die. It was inevitable. It was incredibly sad. But it was absolutely the right way to end. His character was given an honorable arc. Seeing Wax as a dad was incredible. Steris is amazing. Marasi is more likable than she was. The references to the Ghostbloods and all the talk of the consmere was so exciting. This book had a ton of buildup, but the payoff was so worth it. I’m excited to see what direction Brando takes for Era 3.
