Whisper Network by Chandler Baker

mysterious tense medium-paced

2.5

Not a particularly intersectional approach to sexual harassment in the workplace, since despite clear dedication to highlighting the double standard for professional women, the focus remains largely on those white and well-off for a large portion of the book. Rather than a nuanced reckoning against the system, it reads like a one-note introduction to feminist theory (for example, one protagonist repeatedly idolatrizes Tina Fey). Although the female characters are not meant or needed to be likable in order to root for them in this situation, it feels difficult for the reader to give the book a pass solely based on supporting women.
