Ash and Snow by Silvana G. Sánchez

4.0

Ash and Snow is a Snow White retelling with a twist. Maleath Snow finds herself running from the castle due to the Evil Queen. A harrowing journey leads her to The Seven—a group of mages who take her in.

This story flips the script on the original tale and takes some welcome liberties. I enjoyed the magic system and the addition of the non-human kingdom. There are so many people with differing agendas at play. Trope-wise you have something akin to insta-love, with hints of friends to lovers, as well as a strong sense of found family (my favorite).

Maleath is a strong FMC both mentally and physically. Ash is strong, yet broken. The Seven are delightful in many different ways, and I love that the readers get a sense of their personalities.

This was a quick and enjoyable read for me. Definitely pick this up if you’re in the mood for an original Snow White retelling!

Special thanks to the author and BookSirens for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.
