I went into this book thinking I had enjoyed the author's other book, THE DEAD ROMANTICS, and so I was excited to see what she came up with this time. When I looked back at my review of THE DEAD ROMANTICS, however, that book was actually a middle of the road, three-star read.
I'm glad I hadn't looked at that review before starting this because it may have deterred me from reading. Poston's books are bingeable, and I listened to this in two sittings within a 24-hour period. The characters in this book were so likable, and you will find yourself rooting for them every step of the way. This book is magical and whimsical with themes of family, grief, and friendship woven in. The author's note at the end tied everything together beautifully and made the story feel even more heartfelt. I definitely recommend the audiobook for this one, and I'm interested to see what Poston comes out with next!
