My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
5.0
Another winner. CHAINSAW starts with a not-unfamiliar prologue and slow burns its way to a ridiculously satisfying blood-soaked finale in an aquatic ad hoc “drive in.” The novel manages to embrace and celebrate all (I think he got all of them) of the cliches and tropes of slasher horror while turning them all inside out at the same time. This was my third go-round with SGJ, and he has yet to disappoint.
