Had I been able to open the pages of this one in the shop I might have passed, but it was sealed and for good reason. It is sold on "sex" but what you really get is rape played for laughs, an omnipresent creepy male gaze, sex with an intoxicated woman who falls asleep (hey rape #2!), and a little bit of racism thrown in for good measure.
The vulgarity of the titular character seemingly only exists to make the book seem "edgy." This reads like the author has never actually met a woman in his life and just had a boner thinking about speaking to one the entire time he was writing this. I do not know who the mysterious "Kickliy" is but I'm gonna guess it's a bearded white dude. (This writing just reeks of bearded white dude.)
I was excited about the western setting, and the bawdy character I was promised, but this just missed the mark so hard, I don't know what to say. I generally love adult comics but this was just cringe-worthy throughout. If I wasn't able to read it in its entirety while my laundry was in I might not have picked it back up again for a second sitting.
You would do better to read something like Sex Criminals or Bitch Planet if you want to tap into the sexy side of Image, because this one was an uncomfortable race to the last page. If only I'd left that shrink wrap on.
