The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda

2.0

I found it difficult to connect and/or care about any of the characters and wasn’t even that interested in who the killer was. The writing felt disjointed and overall, there wasn’t anything about the story that will be memorable to me and frankly, it kind of dragged quite a bit. It’s a massive slow burn which I didn’t realize when I started it and so I was kind of bored. The story picks up towards the end, about 80% of the book maybe, but the end reveal about the main protagonist’s past and who the killer is didn’t shock me or anything. I didn’t predict it either but it was nothing special. I kind of enjoyed it but I don’t think the time was worth my time and so I wouldn’t really recommend it. It was my first book by this author but I’m not sure if I want to continue with her books.
