This is another fantastic story with great characters in this hockey romance series #CarolinaComets
I’ve loved all the couples and stories, this book is no exception.
Miller and Scout had an unfortunate and awkward encounter at a party that made Scout “hate” her long time, secret crush.
Miller is fairly clueless about women, he’s played the part of serial dater, but the truth is that he’s a 24 year old NHL hockey player who is still a virgin!
I love the virgin trope when it’s the man, it’s less common and it really works in this story so well for me.
Miller has overbearing parents, they play a big part in his emotional issues and habits.
He had no regular social life, he missed out on “normal” teenage experiences.
He’s had no lasting romantic relationships, just singular dates.
He doesn’t trust easily, he’s closed off to people.
He plays up the young, funny “player” character as an emotional wall.
One thing about him from previous books and this one that let me know he was special is a friendship he has with a homeless man. Super SWOON! He stole my heart with that open heart and mind.
Scout is a bold straight shooter. She says it like she sees it, I love that aspect of her personality.
She has a giving nature and is accomplished, she still has insecurities like everyone else.
She has her own popular donut/coffee truck business. Her food truck and she have been in the previous books in this series. The hockey players and their significant others love her specialty donuts and her personally as well. I love that she’s a minor secondary character in all the previous books.
She’s an aspiring writer and bookworm. LOVE!
Scout lost one of her dad’s and had a terrible break up at the same time (the way it went down was so bad!) Since then she’s kind of been hiding out from life and not moving forward personally or professionally.
The pair have an adversaries to friends to lovers romance and I think it’s really fun, sweet, super funny at times and emotional in a beautiful way.
Plus it’s really sexy & HOT! Clench your thighs together, and cheeks blush HOT.
It gave me the butterflies of anticipation and excitement of “firsts”.
Their chemistry is great and I think they balance each other well.
The text exchanges between the two are hilarious, literally laugh out loud fun. The author has included that aspect in all the books, I LOVE it! It’s a really fun and clever way of showing the characters wit and personalities. Especially since the hockey players are at away games frequently…it totally makes sense for the situation.
I’m in love with this couple and their romantic, emotional journey.
The familiar and new secondary characters add tons of fun and heart.
I can’t wait for the next book! I seriously don’t want this series to ever end.
