I finally was able to figure out who did it before the end!  This is the first in the Poirot series that I was able to solve the murder which was sort of gratifying but also maybe a tiny bit disappointing.  Either I'm getting more observant or this wasn't one of the better mysteries in the series.  I didn't love it but didn't hate it, it was just fine.
