Husband Material by Alexis Hall

This book was not at all what I anticipated it being. I don’t expect every contemporary romance I read to be happy 100% of the time, but I feel like this sequel did more to convince me that Luc and Oliver don’t belong together than they do belong together. It didn’t gel with what I remember from Boyfriend Material and felt off the whole time. For lack of a better word, it was almost cringy how often they went back to the same arguments over and over again, or how it barely felt like Luc and Oliver enjoyed being in each other’s company when they were in scenes together. The ending was not great and it felt cheap that they were essentially lying to each other for over half of the book when they’re supposed to be so in sync and in love.

I don’t want to judge this book too harshly, but I didn’t really enjoy it, unfortunately.
