Drama King by Penny Reid
4.0
Readers in the mood for a high-heat romcom should turn back now, but those in it for the long-haul, slow-burn, will-they-or-won’t they (spoiler - they will!) romance will enjoy ‘Drama King’ by Penny Reid.
This story follows a non-traditional format. It is dual point of view, but readers don’t always know what is going on in both characters’ minds. For the first half of the story, most chapters build up to one of Cyrus and Beth’s interactions. The interaction happens, and then the story jumps ahead. It’s an interesting style of storytelling.
Both characters felt well developed, with childhood trauma that informed who they are as adults. While Beth is by all rights a kick-ass heroine, Cyrus felt impossible not to love.
