Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson

5.0

this is the longest book i have ever read which made it extremely daunting. each time i picked it up, i was filled with a sense of dread. nonetheless, i pushed through and i am veeerrryyyy glad i did.

sanderson has the ability to create a universe so completely and wholistic without trying too hard. everything connected together so seamlessly. each time i thought “we’ll that was pointless”, there ALWAYS turned out to be a specific reasoning that was helpful to the plot.

speaking of the plot, it was very well put together. throughout the lulls of the narrative, sanderson included flashbacks and interludes that added a bit of spice.

the character development was extremely satisfactory as well !! they functioned like real humans experiencing both the highs and lows of growth. and despite their being a bunch of point of views, sanderson took much care in ensuring each character was multidimensional.

well done !!!! five staaaarsss !!!
