I've finished a new book!! I feel like I should treat myself. It took me three days to get past the first 50pp (the fault was my pandemic brain) but then I was completely hooked and I didn't want to stop reading. What I really liked about Winter's Orbit:

- It's a fast-paced standalone so all the threads get resolved AND there is a lot of adventure in space so the pages just fly.
- The worldbuilding - I thought it was very interesting specially because as the reader everything feels very futuristic but Iskat is supposed to be a backwater planet so really looking forward to more books (standalones, please) in this same universe.
- Kiem and Kiem/Jainan relationship. I really loved Kiem, he is really just a good guy, very extroverted, trying his best not to be a screw-up. I do love and agree with Maxwell that they are people that separate are competent but together they shine? It was so lovely to see them together.
- Bel. Loved this character, I hope she gets her own book at some point. She is so competent, and kinda cold but also she deeply cares? My favourite.

This is very much an adventure in space more than a romance in space, though. I recommend it to everyone that like sci-fi!
