What an interesting book, it takes the worst thing that can happen in an oligarchical and capitalist society, and expands. The first part was quite political and rough to get through
Spoilerfor example, the dinner parties and the investigations that main character goes through to find out about how corrupt capitalism is, and how great socialism is. Also, her absolute fawning over Ernest, how “strong he is physically and intellectually“
but then the second half is all post apocalyptic action and war.
SpoilerI liked how she was a spy, it seemed to make her a useful and interesting character with actual say in what happens
an interesting book to say the least
