i loved the first half but the second half fell flat. i was truly enjoying the writing style, the characters were compelling and the plot (so as the subplots) were promising. but the author dragged the story a little too much— it became frustrating. the magic system is too rooted in reality— i mean, cmon, give them some fighting chance lol. witch trials inspired books are always frustrating but it guarantees satisfaction in the end but this one took too long. it's still good/okay overall tho.
