Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke

4.0

With finals coming up I didn't think I would have much time to read books. I went into this book not really knowing what it was about and I really need to do that more because it gave me such a nice result. This is just one I had to make an exception for. It just had me hooked from the very beginning to the point where I read 100 pages a day. On my favorites shelf for sure.

I loved all the characters and their little quirks that just made them more loveable. The whole story just flowed really well and it wasn't hard to pick back up in the middle of a chapter. There was constantly something going on so you didn't lose interest but it also didn't create a sense of rushedness. The writing style was so nice and I really can't explain my love for this book because it is so big. I think I knew it would be a favorite halfway through.

Just something about it made me not give it 5 stars. I don't know, it was missing this extra little spark that would have made it amazing.

Regardless of that missing spark I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quick read that is dark and captivating. I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. I'll cry if it's checked out.
