this was my first book by Cara Bastone and what a blast it was! it wasnโt my all time favourite, but it was definitely such a cute little story and I canโt recommend this enough if you want a quick and fun read. the audiobook was also brilliant as it had background noises and multiple narrators and I think this is how all audiobooks should be done! the reading experience is much better that way.
๐๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐จ: Marigold and Robbie were definitely meant to be together lol they were so hilarious and their banters really made me giggle a couple of times throughout the book! honestly, I wish Robbie was my friend irl cos I just know Iโd laugh my arse off every single day with a person like that ๐ I wonder what his zodiac sign wasโฆ anyway, I think he was my favourite character in this book, although Marigold was quite a fun character too!
๐๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ก๐: I loved how most of this book was told in dialogue. this made the story FLY by and it was only 4 and a half hours long! it felt so natural and like you were actually standing next to them, listening to 2 besties bantering. ๐
๐๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ก๐ค๐ฉ: I loved the idea of a psych project where you had to interview couples and lowkey find out whether it was love at first sight for them or not. we got 5 different stories in this book and I found them all to be so interesting! Iโd love to do that irl though, hearing other people talk about their loved ones always makes my heart melt. ๐ค anyway, I also loved the dysfunctional family tropeโMarigold had a pretty much absent father (although he was nice enough to appear out of nowhere and pay for her studies, unlike my dad ๐) and Robbieโs parents were in an unhappy marriage. there was also a vegan representation, so if youโre vegan, this book could be a fun read for you!
