The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson
Did not finish book. Stopped at 14%.
This book is sad. Like the writing is phenomenal and I’m interested in the world, but I relate to the main character too much. Even though we don’t have much in common this book
At every point of reading this book I felt soul crushingly depressed. Even the happy bits are superficial.
At the end of the day, no matter how hard he tries he will never be a Rithmatist and for a reason that’s not his fault. He’s just not special enough.
I don’t normally struggle with imposter syndrome, or with feeling like I’ll never reach my goals, but this book awakened something in me and left me in an existential crisis.
