So happy to have Leo's story after meeting him throughout the Escape series. There was always an air of sadness to him but now he has his chance at a HEA with Rove, though not without their own obstacles.
The two meet when Rove is there just for one weekend, there's an immediate spark of attraction and they connect on several levels, spending one night talking and one night...having fun. Their problem comes with living on opposite coasts and having such different careers, Leo running the Elysium resort and Rove a Hollywood actor. Five years later, a scandal that blows ridiculously out of proportion, and out of context, leaves Rove struggling and needing an escape. Neither has forgotten the other and they pick up right where they left off. I love how easy it is for them to do that. There's no pretense about who they are or what they can give, but they are the support that each needs. It's given time to grow and build whilst a storm is going on around them. My heart hurts for what Rove is put through. Social media and news outlets can be an evil place, jumping to conclusions, not fact checking before accusing. Leo has done well in his role considering the loss he suffered but he become a workaholic, only really noticing when taking a step back to spend time with Rove. It's great when being with a special someone gives you a clearer perspective on what's been going on as well as what is possible. These two men are crazy hot together but also are happy with the small moments, reading side by side and talking about everything and nothing.
Both men have wonderfully supportive best friends who I hope we hear more from, as well as where the story finishes. That sounds like it could be a great series to read.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review
