Love these two characters. He's a quarterback for a NFL team and she's hiding. From her past (which remains a mystery throughout the book,) and from relationships. In fact she helps people break up from unhealthy relationships. This story is the opposite of most romances... he doesn't want just the sex. He wants the commitment. She's the one fighting it.

As far as their characters go, he is really a nice guy all round, despite being a pro athlete. He isn't cocky or arrogant. He isn't a player. If you have read 'He Loves Me... Knot' you will recognize several of the characters. (This is a stand alone though, so don't fret.) You will probably want to read it after this because you'll love Becket (the Hero) and want to read more about him, and see more of his past. She is smart and witty, yet has a vulnerability about her. She also has secrets from her past that cause her to not believe in love. Those secrets also cause her to break his heart. (Have no fear, this does have a happy ending.) She's had a tough childhood that left her jaded.

As far as the story goes, there's a lot of sweet to it. There aren't really any up and downs with their emotions (other than the one biggie that causes them to break up.) She has doubts and is slow going, but once she allows it to happen, it's all good.... until her secrets come out. The side characters are a hoot and bring a lot of humor to the book. And of course there is some sexy time. I know I keep talking about the sweet, but this book the perfect combination of sweet and sexy.

The book reads easily, alternating between POV's. It's quick, flows smoothly. It does jump ahead in the timeline throughout. So the book takes place over the course of 5-6 months. Suitable for mature readers.
