The Gay Girl's Guide to Ruining Prom by Siera Maley

5.0

I loved this book. I read it all in 2 days. Zoey's and Chelsea's relationship was really well developed, despite being based on lies, and I enjoyed watching it develop despite knowing it was going to all blow up in their faces at the end.

Skylar is horrible, btw. I'm glad Zoey ditched her at the end. I hated everytime Cole was on the page as well.

I'm also so happy Zoey and Chelsea communicated openly, and they gave themselves another shot! Yes!

The whole subplot with Zoey's homophobic parents was difficult to read, but I think it was handled well. I'm glad her dad made an effort with her. Ngl I almost teared up when she was kicked out and Chelsea took her to her house and Chelsea's mum was crying and said she could stay as long as she wanted. Sorry about my language, but parents are supposed to love their kids unconditionally, so fuck those who make their kids feel worthless because they don't match whatever image they have of their child in their heads.

I really enjoyed this book. Definitely recommend it!
