The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

3.0

I've been seeing rave reviews for the new Netflix show, so I thought I'd give the book a read since I enjoy reading books before watching their movie/series adaptations. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I was a bit disappointed, honestly. Some parts were interesting and okay, like the Lady Whistledown aspect moving the narration along and Simon's history and how he overcame it, but overall it just didn't grab me. Also, there was that non-consensual scene that was glossed over (IMO) simply [spoiler alert] because it was against a man and not a woman. Disappointing. (I will say that the narrator on the audiobook is excellent, however.)
